Marathon Digital, a digital asset technology company, has announced the acquisition of 70,000 additional Antminer S19 Bitcoin mining machines from Bitmain. The company also announced that it has entered into a contract with Compute North to host the new machines. Marathon's CEO, Merrick Okamoto, commented on the acquisition, stating that it will increase the company's mining capacity to 13.3 EH/s. The company also announced the purchase of 30,000 S19j Pro miners from Bitmain in August. Marathon Digital's recent acquisitions are part of its efforts to expand its mining operations and increase its Bitcoin production. The company aims to become one of the largest and most efficient Bitcoin miners in North America.
